A partir desta segunda-feira (26) os parceiros homoafetivos já podem se casar com validade civil na Bahia. O direito foi garantido pelo Tribunal de Justiça da Bahia (TJ-BA) no dia 10 de outubro deste ano e a decisão está publicada no Diário da Justiça.
Publicação é assinada pela corregedora geral de Justiça na Bahia, desembargadora Ivete Caldas; e pelo corregedor das comarcas do interior, desembargador Antônio Pessoa Cardoso.
Em maio de 2011, o Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) legalizou a união estável homoafetiva. Já em outubro do ano passado, o Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ) reconheceu o casamento civil entre pessoas do mesmo sexo, decisão referente a um pedido feito por um casal de gaúchas e que não pode ser aplicada diretamente a outros casos.
A primeira união estável de casais do mesmo sexo na Bahia aconteceu em setembro do ano passado, em Teixeira de Freitas, no sul do estado.
