247 – A tentativa de chantagem feita por Andressa Mendonça, esposa de Carlos Cachoeira, contra o juiz Alderico Rocha Santos, deverá provocar a convocação do jornalista Policarpo Júnior, diretor de Veja em Brasília, pela CPMI do caso Cachoeira. Segundo o magistrado, Andressa disse a ele que Cachoeira encomendou um dossiê sobre sua vida ao jornalista Policarpo Júnior. “Se você soltar o Carlos, não soltamos o dossiê”, teria dito.
De acordo com o deputado Paulo Teixeira, vice-presidente da Comissão, o fato prova a relação entre o jornalista e o grupo de Cachoeira. “Com os acontecimentos, está colocada a relação do jornalista com a organização criminosa”, afirmou. “Já iremos discutir a convocação na primeira reunião da CPMI”.
Na edição desta segunda-feira, o Jornal Nacional noticiou a chantagem feita por Andressa, bem como seu objeto (o dossiê que seria publicado em Veja), mas omitiu o nome da revista e do jornalista.
No entanto, a relação entre Policarpo e Cachoeira é antiga. Num grampo, o bicheiro se vangloria de ter produzido todos os furos de reportagem publicados pelo jornalista. Isso inclui, por exemplo, o vídeo em que Maurício Marinho aparece recebendo uma propina de R$ 3 mil nos Correios – o que detonou o processo do mensalão. Na CPMI, a única voz que vinha insistindo pela convocação de Policarpo Júnior era o senador Fernando Collor (PTB/AL). No entanto, a blindagem ao jornalista foi comandada pelo relator Odair Cunha, que não colocou em votação os requerimentos pela convocação do jornalista. Além disso, dirigentes dos principais partidos políticos sofreram intensa pressão dos grupos Abril, Folha e Globo para que a CPI do caso Cachoeira não se transformasse em CPI da mídia.
