Para formular um plano estratégico chamado “São Paulo 2030”, em parceria com o Movimento Brasil Competitivo, a Tony Blair Associates receberá R$ 12 milhões, por um ano de trabalho. É uma consultoria de luxo, paga a um personagem que entende pouco ou quase nada de Brasil, numa parceria que se torna ainda mais estranha num estado como São Paulo, que tem a melhor universidade da América Latina: a USP.
Alckmin tentou justificar o convênio. "Nós já temos um conjunto de estudos, projetos, e vários estudos de planejamento, mas estamos firmando uma parceria muito importante na SP2030, com estudos de planejamento para a eficiência", afirmou. Blair, por sua vez, falou sobre o que fará com os seus R$ 12 milhões. "A proposta é ajudar a levantar os projetos que serão prioridade para São Paulo no futuro, e nossa equipe vai trabalhar de forma conjunta para ajudar a implementar esses programas", disse.
Com sua consultoria na Grosvernor Square, um dos pontos mais nobres de Londres, Blair incomoda os britânicos por sua gula financeira. Nunca um político inglês se tornou tão rico quanto ele. Seus voos só ocorrem em jatos particulares.
