O objeto da chantagem, segundo relata o juiz, é surpreendente. Santos relatou ao portal G1 que o jornalista Policarpo Júnior, chefe da revista Veja em Brasília, produziu um dossiê a seu respeito, a pedido do bicheiro. E que este relatório seria publicado em Veja, caso Cachoeira não fosse libertado. Eis o que Andressa teria dito:
- “Doutor, tenho algo muito bom para o senhor. O senhor conhece Policarpo Júnior? O Carlos contratou o Policarpo para fazer um dossiê contra o senhor. Se o senhor soltar o Carlos, não vamos soltar o dossiê”.
Em nota, a revista Veja se posicionou contra a acusação “absurda” contra seu editor e disse tomará providências judiciais contra seus caluniadores.
De todo modo, a parceria editorial entre Cachoeira e Policarpo vem de longa data e produziu várias reportagens. Há um grampo, por exemplo, em que ambos tratam da demissão do ministro Alfredo Nascimento, dos Transportes.
