Lula has 55% approval and performs well in the fight against poverty, survey shows
The government performs best in 'fighting poverty,' 'economy,' 'education,' and 'environment'. There is also optimism regarding the decrease in unemployment
247 - A survey by the MDA Institute, commissioned by the National Confederation of Transport (CNT), released this Tuesday (8), shows that President Lula's (PT) work is approved by 55%, against 39% who disapprove. In May, the approval was 57% and the disapproval 35%. Regarding the federal government, the positive assessment is 41%, against 27% who rate it negatively. In the previous survey round, the positive assessment was 43% and the negative 25%. The survey's margin of error is 2.2 percentage points.
The survey also mapped in which areas, in the population's opinion, Lula's government performs best. Topping the ranking are 'fighting poverty,' 'economy,' 'education,' and 'environment.'
According to the survey, 54% believe that the federal government has managed to articulate with the National Congress to approve projects it deems important for the country, against 33% who disagree.
Regarding the economy, the priority for those surveyed should be job creation and tax reduction. Although it's a priority, 58% of respondents said they are more optimistic about the decrease in unemployment than last year. Those who say they are pessimistic represent approximately 33%.
On the other hand, 46% claim that the cost of living has increased compared to the end of 2022.
